We live in a society where HONESTY is replaced with the
desire to appease those above us.
Where modesty is no longer celebrated and instead we
celebrate the destruction of values and self worth.
Where validation outweighs character.
Where we no longer fight for JUSTICE but for the right to be
ignorant.
Our outrage is no longer in the form of action but left in
whatever fits in 140 characters or less.
Where loyalty is replaced with “ITS RULES TO THIS”
The fact that my spell check only underlines Trayvon as a
misspelled word.
We live in a society where being black and wearing a hood in
the rain scares people.
One that encourages the fear of difference in its children,
to make sure that this ignorance is passed down to the next generation.
A society that says its okay to follow a black male in the
dark; because there has to be a valid reason why he was shot and killed in the street
like a dog.
We justify our ignorance by claiming that it belongs to only
our race, therefore its acceptable.
The desire to belong outweighs the desire to be a good
person.
There are few who get it though.
The few who wake up and pray or meditate to create new energy
to give to the world
The few who think about what they are putting out into this
world
The few who display their love for society by nurturing the
ones who are close to them.
The few who love and display that love with pride and the eagerness
to spread it
